ABOUT ELC & MIRIAM HERNANDEZ
ELC Real Estate, a residential brokerage, was established in June 2013, the primary goal, to assist the community with investing in home ownership, as well as any homeowners that want to sell, purchase another property or relocate. ELC is an acronym for heavenly places. In Spanish it means En Lugares Celestiales; all thoughts will determine one’s actions and to be the best that one could be, the mind needs to be in a very good place.
Miriam’s interest in real estate began after relocating to Florida from Rochester, New York and experiencing the comfort of a warm climate and proximity to all the beautiful beaches. Equipped with a Social Work degree from the State University at Brockport, vast experience in child welfare services, she accepted a position with The Florida Department of Children and Families, packed her bags, her daughter Haylie, and Shiloh the cat; Florida here we come!
In 1995, three years later, she became acquainted with people in the real estate industry and was encouraged to embrace a new career option for the near future and obtained a real estate license from Gold Coast School of Real Estate. While employed fulltime, she practiced real estate in several brokerages and soon transitioned from state government to Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services, Elderly Services Division, Delinquency Prevention Services, Child Development Services, and finally, a provider of supportive services and advocacy to victims of domestic violence.
Once again, that inner voice, confirmed a need for change; in May 2012, she opted for an early retirement from the county, obtained a real estate broker license, and established ELC; what better way to serve the public than to create awareness on the benefits of homeownership as a path for further empowerment.
On June 30, 2005, Miriam made her first home purchase, a cozy condo near Hallandale Beach Florida; there, she met her husband, Mike and they were married on May 3rd 2008; they presently reside in a home that they purchased together in November 2006, in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Miriam is eternally grateful for her most valued treasures; the support and unconditional love from her husband Mike Simera, the safety and prosperity of her two daughters, Natalie and Haylie, and her four grandchildren, Lord, Bornasia, Edward and Aminah. For all her blessings and well-being, her total gratitude goes to her spiritual parents, God, two in one MelquisedecLisbet, for imparting in her mind, their spiritual knowledge, wisdom, and eternal life.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing
you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
A strong woman knows she has strength enough for the journey,
But a woman of strength knows it is in the journey where she will become strong.
