Some millennials that once frowned upon going back to live with their parents, have returned. While living on their own brings some sense of autonomy, many face unemployment and high student loan debt, after graduation. Although going back home was not part of the original plan, they accepted parents offer to come back home and work through financial issues.
With full-time employment, a decent salary and minimal financial obligations, it was possible to pay down student loan debt, put 20% down payment on a 4-bedroom ,Cape Cod style home and have enough money left over for minor updates needed.
Within two-years, the support from family members and sound financial planning, it was possible for this millennial to leave the nest and not return; unless of course for short visits and occasional dinners! elcrealty@gmail.com www.elchomes.com source: Florida Realtors.org
